Frank Jackson, Executive Director
Frank is a native of San Angelo who has made his home in Austin for the past 50 years. Most of that time has been spent around the Capitol where Frank began working while a freshman at the University of Texas. Following law school at the University of Houston, he joined an electric utility holding company, then the Texas Medical Association in advocacy positions. In his previous position, Frank spent over 20 years representing Bristol-Myers Squibb pharmaceutical company in Texas and several other states in legislative, regulatory and political issues.
“I am fortunate to be joining a group with such a firm foundation. The interest and participation of the membership is exceptional and the mission is one that is easy to promote. We intend to build on the foundation Jim has created to bring more services and more visibility to the organization,” Jackson said.
Frank’s wife, Melissa, is Executive Director of Community and Donor Relations for the University of Texas System. Their son, Wroe, is chief of staff to state senator Joan Huffman.
Tanya Lavelle, Policy Director
Tanya is a native Texan who has spent her career advocating for the health and well being of underserved populations across the country. After spending six years studying and working in Washington, DC she returned to Texas where she earned her Master of Public Affairs degree from the LBJ School at UT Austin in 2012.
Prior to joining TAAHP Tanya was the Senior Manager of Advocacy for Easter Seals Central Texas where she focused on early childhood, mental health and housing issues. She has a passion for music and spends her spare time performing and traveling with a local brass band. Tanya lives in Austin with her husband Brian and dog Pitou.
Kristi Sutterfield, Conference Director
Kristi is the Director of the Texas Housing Conference hosted by TAAHP.
Kristi is in her ninth year as the Conference Director and is in charge
of 35+ education sessions, all networking events, fundraising, partner
and booth sales, advertising sales, as well as keynote and panel speakers.
Kristi also heads up the education initiatives for TAAHP and is involved with
directing other special events for TAAHP.
Kristi was previously the Executive Director of the Texas Association of Builders from 2002 through 2007. Kristi works with the Greater San Antonio Builders Association, the Texas State Affordable Housing Corporation and consults for others involved in affordable housing arena. She was named Executive Officer of the Year in 2007 by the National Association of Home Builders. She serves on the NAHB Board of Directors, lives in San Antonio and is a single mother of twin sons, Hunter and Fisher, who are both in college.
